Auchendrane

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Auchendrane as Chapel (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Auchendrane is associated with Saint Blane, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer, whose name is derived from the Gaelic "Blaíghin" meaning "white" or "bright." Traditionally linked to healing wells and chapels, Saint Blane is venerated in parts of Scotland and Ireland for his miraculous cures, particularly of skin ailments and blindness.
