Wallace's Stone

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Wallace's Stone as Cross Incised Stone (10th Century) - (12th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Wallace's Stone is traditionally associated with William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish hero, and is thought to mark a site of significance in his resistance against English rule. While the stone itself is a medieval cross slab, local folklore may link it to tales of Wallace's guerrilla campaigns or hidden meetings.
