What is recorded here
Thirteen Early Christian slabs emerged from the soil around Carrowntemple church, revealing a hidden workshop where local hands shaped crosses, triskeles and maze patterns before burying them with the dead. The originals now scatter across museums and council storage, leaving behind twelve replicas propped against the south wall like ghostly twins. Standing before these copies, you touch the same geometry that marked graves centuries ago, completing the circuit from buried stone to visible memory.
Carrowntemple Graveyard is a cemetery in County Sligo, Ireland.
