Carraunnagunoge is a Neolithic court tomb in Shinganagh, County Mayo, where unworked stones still mark a burial place after thousands of years. It is not a grand ruin or a polished monument; it is a quiet survivor in ordinary Mayo landscape, preserving the communal effort of people who arranged large stones around death long before written memory. What is missing has not stopped the place existing. The stones remain visible, witnessable, and available for human attention, which is enough to keep their story alive.
