What is recorded here

Lisfadda is a broken fairy fort in South Kerry, its long oval bank halved by a field boundary and choked with grass. The surviving wall stands two metres high beside the Glasheencockusuck stream, overlooking Macgillycuddy's Reeks. It is not a polished monument but a wounded landscape marker, perhaps holding memories that ordinary history forgot.

Internal diam. c. 35m NW-SE Lisfadda/Lios Fada: This rath is situated in pastureland that slopes gently W to the Glasheencockusuck stream, N of Macgillycuddy's Reeks. The present remains are disturbed and partly obscured by vegetation. The enclosing element is levelled E of a field boundary which bisects the site from NW to SE. The surviving bank averages an external height of 2m, and is 3.3m in basal width. It falls 1.4m to an overgrown and apparently featureless interior. The above description is derived from A.
