Embanked enclosure

Situated on a level, low-lying landscape with a W-E stream c. 30m to the S. It was described in 1980 as a subrectangular area defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 5m; int. H 1.5m) with external flat bottomed moats (Wth at base 2m; D 2m) on each side, and traces of an outer bank S SW. There was an entrance at NW (SMR file). It is not visible now at ground level in pasture. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
