Stobs Castle, Stables in the Scottish Borders served as first World War barracks and post Medieval stables. Soldiers and horses may have filled the rooms, their breath fogging the air while wheels scraped stone. The building still holds that much motion, waiting for someone to remember the sound of hooves and boots inside its walls.
