What is recorded here

Ruecastle marks a lost axehead in the Scottish Borders, a small stone tool dropped or buried before human memory reached it. The place may hold a forgotten workshop, a trading path, or a ceremony where a broken blade returned to soil. Its exact age remains unknown, but the act of making and losing the axe belongs to someone who lived there.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Ruecastle as Findspot (period Unassigned), Axehead (stone)(period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
