What is recorded here

Sixty metres of buried ribbon stretch beneath the pines, a ghost shape waiting for drought or rain to reveal its edges. The land has swallowed the marker but never erased the memory, holding the curve steady while trees and time move above it. What hands built that quiet line remains unknown, yet the earth still remembers the shape they gave it.

In modern forestry plantation immediately S of a watercourse, on the demesne lands associated with Ryves Castle (LI041-021----), located 400m to SW. Not marked on OSi historic maps. Monument visible as a curvilinear-shaped cropmark on oblique aerial photograph (ASIAP (342) 11) taken 05-01-2003. Visible as an irregular-shaped area (dims. c. 60m NW-SE; 30m N-S) enclosed by a fosse on Google Earth orthoimage dated 05/05/2002.
