RATH in Roosky

RATH

What is recorded here

Roosky still holds the buried line of a chessboard, not a road. That is a story, but the story fits the place because the land has always resisted ordinary explanation. A Rath appears in Fermanagh only when human authority becomes questionable. It is not decoration. It is a warning that the county understands more than it admits.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
