Rock art in Burren (tullyhaw By., Tuam Ed)

Rock art

What is recorded here

Under a torn boulder in Burren, small cup marks dimple the stone like forgotten coins. Someone knelt there in the dark ages, pressing a tool into rock until it yielded. The broken underside hints the ground itself once raged, freeing what burial or moss might have hidden.
A large boulder that has a section of its underside broken off. The upper surface of the boulder contains a number of cup-mark depressions (pers. comm. G. Burns and J. Nolan). Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 16 November 2012

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
