What is recorded here
According to Hogan (1860-61, 382), ‘Within a few hundred yards of the church [Sheepstown church KK031-015001-], where the present road curves round to cross this stream over a small stone bridge, my attention was attracted by the remains of an old roadway coming through the fields from the direction of “Dranganbeg;” and, as it approaches the stream, the place has all the appearance of having been an ancient ford’. This roadway is not indicated on either the 1st (1839)or 2nd (1901) ed. 6-inch OS map and is not visible on the OS ortho or Digitalglobe aerial imagery. The precise location of this roadway is unknown.
