In Killeen bog, S of Derrynaflan, a dryland island on which a monastery (TS054-002001-; TS054-002002-) is located. This togher (Wth 2.2m-4.9m; D 0.14-0.2m; L 35m) is composed of longitudinal roundwood and heavy brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.2m; L 0.35-3m) which is orientated NE-SW, running towards the E side of Derrynaflan island. During the peatland survey it was visible as three sightings on the field surface across three production fields. This togher survives as regularly laid longitudinal roundwoods that are overlain with gravel along the centre and the eastern end. The western end, where it adjoins the dryland, possibly survives within a marginal tract of unmilled bog. The underlying peat was composed of strongly humified sphagnum-rich peat with moderate phragmites inclusions.
