Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Rintulla

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Rintulla, County Limerick: a 23m circular earth-and-stone bank on a gentle west-facing slope below a limestone hillock, its level interior still worn smooth under pasture. The south and southwest bank stand clearer, while vegetation swallows the rest, making the ring appear and disappear like a breath. People may have kept animals inside, marked a boundary, or simply followed the shape the land already suggested.
In pasture, on gentle W-facing slope, below brow of limestone hillock. Circular area (diam. 23m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.55m; ext. H 0.3m), best preserved S->SW, but completely masked by vegetation overgrowth W->NE. Level interior under pasture. Field boundary abuts enclosing bank at SSE.
