Grave Yd is a walled graveyard at the west edge of Rathmore, holding a church dedicated to St. Columcille and several crosses that may date from the medieval period. The nearby motte overlooks the place like a silent guard, while the stone wall encloses layers of burial, belief and change. People may have walked this ground for centuries, marking death with crosses and leaving the older church beneath or inside the newer one.

On the W-edge of Rathmore village, a former Anglo-Norman borough (KD020-009001-), and overlooked by a fine motte (KD020-009004-) immediately to the N. An almost square area (est. dims. L c. 80m E-W; Wth c. 75m) enclosed by a stone wall contains a multi-period C of I church dedicated to St. Columcille in the W sector, which stood on site of or possibly incorporated the remains of a medieval church (KD020-009005-). The graveyard contains one freestanding granite cross (KD020-009007-) and four possible medieval crosses, (KD020-009008-, KD020-009010-, KD020-009013- and KD020-009014-), a medieval graveslab (KD020-009012-) and a 17th century cross (KD020-009011-).
