What is recorded here

Lissallow is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Rathleg, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a low-lying position at the south edge of a basin and presents a circular grass-covered area measuring forty-one point six metres north-south and forty metres east-west. Three earthen banks and two fosses surround the centre, with an entrance cutting through all layers at the southeast.

In a low-lying position at the S edge of a basin. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 41.6m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.3m at E to 6.8m at N; int. H 0.3m at N to 0.7m at S; ext. H 1.7-2.2m), which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.6m) NW-NE. This is separated by a fosse (Wth of top 8.2-10.3m; Wth of base 3.6-5m; D 1-1.6m) from an earthen bank (Wth 3.3-4.8m; ext. H 0.4-0.6m) with some bushes, which is missing NE-SE. A second fosse (Wth of top 7-8.2m; Wth of base 2.5-5m; D 0.6-1.1m) separates this middle bank from an outer bank (Wth 6.5-8m; ext. H 0.1-0.8m) with some bushes which has been removed SE-S (max. ext. diam. 84m N-S; 83m E-W). The entrance through the inner (Wth 1.3m), middle (Wth 4.5m) and outer banks (Wth 5m) is at SE.
