Graveslab in Rathkieran is a church memorial for John Walsh of Kilkregane and Isabella FitzGerald, cut in Latin Black Letter and dated to the 1630s. It is not a distant abstract marker; it is a household made visible, naming the people who lived, died and were remembered beside the altar. The chamber still holds that much: two lives, one county, and a language chosen to keep them company long after the hand that struck the stone had gone.
