What is recorded here

Rathfreedy is a 52-metre earthen ring in level Limerick pasture, its broken bank and waterlogged ditch marking a boundary older than memory. Mature sycamores and whitethorns now fill the circle, softening the sharp edge of that ancient exclusion. The fort does not demand belief; it waits patiently beneath its green roof, holding the shape of human ambition long after the hands that built it have forgotten how to remember.

In level pasture. Circular area (diam. 52m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.2m; ext. H 3.1m) with external fosse (D 1.9m; Wth 4.8m). Break in bank (Wth. 1.8m) with causeway (Wth. 3.8m) across fosse at N. Fosse infilled with refuse W->NW; otherwise it is waterlogged.
