A flat, lichen-covered block of stone, roughly rectangular in plan (L 1.2m; Wth 0.9m; D. 0.33m) located in a boggy hollow in a field of pasture. Known locally as a mass-rock (pers. comm. Linked to the tradition of Catholic worship during periods of religious persecution, mass-rocks like this one were used as clandestine sites for celebrating Mass. Local folklore often associates such sites with saints or holy figures who brought faith to the area under secrecy and danger.
