In Ballyneill More, County Derry, a rath still stands as a scheduled archaeological site, its exact age unknown but its shape clear enough to mark on official maps. The earthwork may have been a farmstead, a fortress or a boundary marker, yet no written record has decided which. What is certain is that someone built it deliberately, and the land has kept it intact long enough for modern surveyors to measure the remains.
