RATH: DERRYNAUGHT FORT in Derrynaught

RATH: DERRYNAUGHT FORT

What is recorded here

Mortars and broken pots still lie scattered across the grass, waiting for someone patient enough to listen before touching them. The fort has watched Derrynaught since before written history, and it may still be watching back through the shape of its own ruins.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH: DERRYNAUGHT FORT. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
