Culdees Castle, Stable Block in Perth and Kinross is a stable structure still unassigned to a period, though it stands beside a castle that has watched the land for centuries. Horses may have stamped its floors while people tended them, their breath fogging the air in winter and their hooves beating rhythms no instrument could copy. The castle loomed above, but the stable belonged to the horse first, and the horse does not leave the place even when the person does.
