Belmont Castle in Perth and Kinross is a Bronze Age cist and food vessel, not the lost English mansion. It is an underground chamber and burial container from deep human time. The castle part is memory from elsewhere, but the cist and vessel belong to Scotland and to the dead who first used them.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Belmont Castle as Cist (bronze Age), Food Vessel (bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
