Freesia

Steam Trawler (period Unassigned)-(1922)

What is recorded here

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Freesia as Steam Trawler (period Unassigned)-(1922). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Freesia was a steam trawler built in 1922, later converted to a drifter. It was lost in 1940 during World War II when it was bombed and sunk by a German aircraft off the coast of Orkney, resulting in the loss of all 33 crew members.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
