Ogham stone in Bawnaglanna,inchincummer

This is the original location of the ogham stone (Present location KE048-070001) that was recorded in 1986 as then lying on the S bank of a ringfort (KE048-070----) where it had been placed by the landowner who had purchased it some two years previously: he noted that it originally came from in or near the circular enclosure (KE049-101----) (Castleisland survey records, SMR file). An account of this stone was published by Lynch (1908) and included by Macalister in his corpus (1945, no. 248). The stone measures 0.67m x 0.33m x 0.31m but according to Lynch (ibid., 279) it was considerably larger and was broken at the base.
