Kerry rain broke the ground near Kilfountan Church and revealed two Ogham stones, one of which people crushed into building material while the other lived briefly beside Kildrum graveyard before going to St. Brendan's Seminary. The lost stone may have been a marker, a warning or a name for someone no longer remembered; the keeping stone still carries that much harder-to-forget edge of angles and absence.

Two ogham stones were dislodged by a flood which affected the bed of a stream in this townland (Macalister 1945, 162-3; O'Sullivan 1931, 398). According to Curran, the find place was near Kilfountan Church (KE043-144003-). This record relates to the one that was broken up for building material. The 2nd was preserved for a while in a farmhouse near Kildrum graveyard (KE143-130001-) and then removed to the grounds of St. Brendan's Seminary in Killarney where it remains today (see KE066-099---).
