Flight Commander Albert Ball Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) 25th April - 6th May 1917
Flight Commander Albert Ball was a renowned British fighter pilot and one of the highest-scoring Allied aces of World War I, credited with 44 aerial victories. He was connected to the Sherwood Foresters regiment before his service with the Royal Flying Corps, and his leadership and skill in combat made him a celebrated figure in military aviation history.
