Excavations in Nangor in 2001 revealed a medieval ditch complex, with boundaries and water management gullies still visible beneath the soil. Around sixteen hundred local pottery sherds emerged beside two rare imported fragments, hinting that this was no empty landscape but a worked, inhabited place. The ditches may have guided rainwater through fields tended by hands now forgotten, while the imported clay suggests trade reached even this quiet corner of County Dublin.
