Naas West holds a sub-rectangular granite font from the Augustinian Priory of St John the Baptist. It waited beneath the ground until 1990, when development work brought it back into human sight. The priory may have fallen, but its washing place remained patient, keeping a medieval shape for later hands to discover.

On the site of the Augustinian Priory of St John the Baptist (KD019-030010-). In 1990, archaeological testing (O’Carroll F. Excavation Licence No. 90E0022) in advance of a proposed development recorded a sub-rectangular granite font, of possible medieval date, at the site.
