What is recorded here

Barra, Castlebay stands as a recorded farmstead in Na h-Eileanan Siar, Scotland, marked only by a point accurate to ten metres. The name suggests a castle never built, a bay that imagines stone towers where only grass and memory remain. Whoever farmed there lived inside that false grandeur, measuring days against a phantom fortress.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Barra, Castlebay as Farmstead (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
