What is recorded here

Rathmore is a well-preserved fairy fort on a Galway hillock, its double banks and central ditch still drawing a clear line across the grass. The southern gap remains open like an invitation, while hidden internal divisions suggest the ring once held separate rooms for human or fairy use. People may have lived there before retiring the place to legend, but the earth still keeps its shape and waits for someone to remember what it guarded.

On the summit of a hillock in grassland. This well-preserved subcircular rath (58m E-W; 51m N-S) is defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank and fosse are visible all round. The outer bank survives from N through E to W and is overlain by field walls from NE to E and from SW to W. A causewayed gap (Wth 5.8m) at S may mark the original entrance. Internal divisions, defined by grassed-over stony banks, are evident in the SW quadrant and E sector of the interior.
