Field system in Mullaghfin

Field system

What is recorded here

Seven acres of forgotten fields slope north from a prominent hill in Mullaghfin, hiding beneath modern grass until satellite eyes reveal their angular shadows. Anthony Murphy first pointed them out, forcing attention onto boundaries that human feet have not marked for centuries. The fields may have fed a small community or divided a larger estate, but their purpose vanished before written memory arrived. They remain visible only through distant instruments, suggesting that some local truths require altitude before they can be seen.
Situated on the N-facing slope of a prominent hill. The cropmarks of a number of small unmapped fields (dims c. 15m x c. 30m to c. 30m x c. 100m) covering an area of about 3 ha. (c. 7 acres) are visible only on Apple maps, which utilises a survey conducted by Bluesky International during June 2018. It was first reported by Anthony Murphy.
