Copper Mine (Disused)

In woodland, on the N shore of Muckross Lake. A complex of infilled mineshafts. An overgrown ruined rectangular structure (ext. 5m E-W; 4.8m N-S) with a wide entrance ope at the E end. It probably dates to the second half of the 18th-century or early 19th-century (O' Brien 2000, 20). A second copper mine (KE074-023---) is c. 200m to the E.
