Excavation in advance of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass in 2003 uncovered an isolated circular pit in County Cork. The small hole held dark brown sandy loam and a single sherd of Late Bronze Age pottery, though that fragment may have fallen in much later. A linear ditch cut across the pit, linking the forgotten markers into one buried line.

Excavation in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass in 2003 uncovered an isolated pit from which a sherd of Late Bronze Age pottery was recovered. This circular pit (diam. 0.65m; D 0.26m) had a fill of dark brown sandy loam and was cut by an E-W linear ditch. According to the excavator (Cotter 2005b, 15), the pit may date to the Late Bronze Age, however, it could equally be later and the pottery could have become incorporated with the fill of the pit at any later period.
