What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Cavan, an oval earthen ring with a narrow southern entrance and a ditch still visible along parts of its edge. People may have lived there, herded animals past its bank, or avoided it after dark because fairy forts demand respect. The field boundary now swallows part of the ancient shape, yet the ring still marks the ground as a place set apart.

Raised oval area (int. dims. 47.3m NE-SW; 28.4m NW-SE) enclosed by a substantially modified earthen bank incorporated into the field boundary, and a fosse best preserved from E-S-W. Narrow break in bank at S with accompanying causeway may represent original entrance.
