Castle Law stands in Midlothian as a post Medieval farmhouse, farmstead and sheepfold now sharing its law with a twentieth century wind generator. Brass blades cut the ancient air above stone walls that once held wool, grain and human breath. The property belongs to someone, yet the law itself belongs to everyone who watches the modern spiral turn above the old farm.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Law as Farmhouse (post Medieval), Farmstead (post Medieval), Sheepfold (post Medieval), Wind Generator (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
