What is recorded here

Castlelaw Hill holds a mound and cisterns from an unknown time, waiting beneath the training area where rifles still shout. The gun ranges may drown human voices, but they cannot erase the older shapes buried in the soil. Perhaps the hill remembers more than the men who fire beside it.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlelaw Hill as Cistern(s) (period Unknown), Mound (period Unknown). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
