Castlelaw is a twentieth-century boundary marker in Midlothian, set beside an active firing range where live practice still interrupts the quiet. It marks the edge of a place people must not wander, not the edge of a field they may cross. The law may have been drawn for guns, not for visitors, and that distinction still holds.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlelaw as Boundary Marker (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
