What is recorded here
One lost tomb and its fence circle still belong to Tirgan, though no marker exists to point at them. The stones may have watched births, deaths and arguments long before written records arrived. Whoever built the enclosure believed the dead still needed a address, a boundary and a place to be remembered.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as MEGALITHIC TOMB & ENCLOSURE (O.S. memoir site, unlocated). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
