Knowth’s slender standing stone casts a deliberate equinox shadow across Tomb 1C West, behaving like a stone sundial beside one of Ireland’s great Neolithic ceremonial landscapes. It is small, polished, faintly carved, and probably fallen soon after erection before being set upright again. That repeated life gives the stone a human sharpness: made, lost, remembered, and made visible again through shadow.
