Hut Island

Hut Island is an islet in County Mayo, Ireland. Perhaps the Atlantic threw bricks and timber onto that rock during a storm, leaving a ruined chamber where gulls still nest. Maybe a hermit built the hut to watch ships pass or hid there when tax collectors came. Imagine standing inside the shallow chamber with salt on your teeth and the sea knocking at the door like a guest who refuses to leave.
