Skehanagh Fort

Inside the earthen ring at Skehanagh Fort, a low oblong heap of stones waits in the grass. Tradition claims the enclosure marked a cillin, an unconsecrated resting place for children excluded from ordinary graveyards. The western bank still stands broad and firm, while cultivation ridges now cross the interior where lives once turned.
