Rathmore

An Ráth Mhór, meaning big fort, still stands at the western edge of the Wicklow Mountains, though its border-fortress purpose has faded into ordinary village life. The name itself preserves the shape of the place: a large defended earthwork rather than a vague rural field. That much is clear from the words used to identify it.
