Rathmoragha

Rathmoragha is a worn ringfort in Ballynalynagh, County Mayo, where a low earthen bank still marks a roughly circular home though field fences now cut across its northern edge. It is not grand, but it is persistent: named on maps from 1838 and 1922, visible as a gentle swelling in rolling pasture, and joined by a second ringfort on a knoll about 195 metres to the north-west. That pairing suggests neighbours, rivals or kin, though the land no longer says which. What remains is the shape of residence, repeated and half-erased, waiting to be recognized.
