What is recorded here
Rathcoultia is a broken ringfort on a gravel ridge near Castlehill, County Mayo, where a modern fence cuts through the middle and ploughing has erased the eastern half. The surviving western arc preserves a low earthen bank, faint cultivation ridges, and a possible second outer edge hidden beneath brambles. It is no longer a complete home or defensible place, but it still shows why the site was chosen: open to the north, sheltered to the south, and set above flat pasture where people could watch the land and be watched in return.
Rathcoultia is recorded as a archaeological place in County Mayo. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
