What is recorded here
Treanlaur holds a man-made underground passage beneath a levelled ringfort, though no entrance or mark remains visible at ground level. The hidden tunnel belongs to local tradition rather than certainty, inviting imagination about the people who dug it and the purposes they served. What is known is that human hands shaped the earth below an ordinary field in County Mayo, leaving behind a secret that resists easy discovery.
In a ringfort (MA072-053----). There is a local tradition that the ringfort, which has been levelled, contains a Man-made underground passage. No visible trace at ground level.
