One chamber, one roof, one living edge. The fort stands above, the cave below, and both belong to the same place. People may have lived above, hidden below, or simply used the cave as a room the cliff had already made.

The site is described in the OSNB as a 'fort having a cave in it' (KE083-028001-) (Templeno, 3). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 689.
