Knockreagh holds a small univallate rath marked on the 1841-42 OS map, with a slight interior mound that may hide a man-made underground passage. Cattle have broken the enclosing bank in places, yet no definite entrance appears, leaving the passage either lost or never fully opened. The rath still shows clearly in 1974 aerial photographs, preserving a shape that later maps forgot.

Small univallate rath KE016-050---- is marked on the 1841-42 OS map. It does not appear on the later edition though it shows up clearly on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1974). The interior is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land and in the N sector of the interior is a slight mound which could suggest a Man-made underground passage (KE016-050001-). Numerous cattle breaks are to be noted in the enclosing bank, but there is no definite entrance. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
