Man-made underground passage in Inishmurray

In the E half of an ecclesiastical enclosure (SL011-011001-), known as ‘The Cashel’. Heraughty (1982) and McGowan (1998) describe a Man-made underground passage beneath or east of Templemolaise church (SL001-001009-), but neither author gives personal testimony on this, and there is nothing now visible above ground. Indeed, the presence of a leacht (SL001-001021-) and several headstones in this area suggest that there is unlikely to have been a Man-made underground passage here, unless this was built at an unusual depth below the surface.
