Man-made underground passage in Derryra More

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

David Sweetman inspected this Man-made underground passage in 1975. Access to the chamber was possible because of the collapsed capstone. There is a passage leading from the E side of the chamber, but it could not be examined due to infill. The other chamber is constructed of small stones. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 1121. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 3 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
